Why can't I get this with a PCI card?

The main reason is that it requires a 35 volt bias voltage that is generated on the EarthVision/ISA but not the EarthVision/PCI also we would have to write a new BIOS also.

How long will you have this kit?

Since we have 25,000 refurbished and 20,000 new of this LCD we expect to have for at least three years and maybe much longer.

Can I get this kit with a new LCD instead of refurbished?

No, but you can buy the new LCD separately ($60 qty 1). We're really giving the refurbished LCD away if you compare the kit pricing to other kits.

Can I use this LCD outside?

Surprisingly many monochrome lcd's are somewhat usable in indirect sunlight especially if you use inverse character black on white.

Where did this LCD come from?

While it was a standard Epson LCD and used in instrumentation, the biggest user was InFlight Phone who went bankrupt (and Earth bought 60,000 pounds of stuff!!). They were in the back of airplane seats for the inflight phone. Also if you know some executive at Southwest Airlines, the ones still on their planes are ours! We just can't find out how to get them back!
