Part Numbering Scheme

In effort to better differentiate and explain our products to our customers, we began using a new part numbering scheme at the end of 2001. All Earth products start with a 3 digit prefix (XXX)- although the first digit will tell you what you need to know about product life and source of components. All part numbers not using this scheme will gradually be replaced.

X Prefix - eXtended Life -An extended life (5 year) life product based on all new and current electronic components. Ideal for long term OEM use.

S Prefix - Surplus Content -A medium life  (2+ year) product that uses a surplus LCD product. Ideal for end user and cost sensitive OEM use. We only create these when we have a 1000+ of an LCD.

R Suffix - Refurbished Content - Any product that may use a refurbished surplus model of LCD restored to at least 80% original spec brightness and new control electronics. Ideal for hobby, niche, and cost sensitive applications. We may occasionally offer any X or S product with the 'R' option as a way to special out customer returns or trade-in. Typically if the product is only offered in an "R' version it is because we have a large quantity as in the case of the SK-2005R which we have 20,000 + of the LCD.

J Prefix -  Just for Fun - The grab bag of LCD products. Use it just for fun and if your going to use it in a product buy a life time supply soon. May contain refurbished LCD and/or electronics. Could you be one large OEM mistake!

XLM Prefix - An extended life (5 year) LCD kit or monitor based on new and current models of LCD and control electronic. Ideal for long term OEM use.

SK Prefix - An medium  life (3 year) LCD kit based on new (unused) but surplus models of LCD and new control electronics. Ideal for hobby, niche, and cost sensitive applications. While these may run out we will always try to replace with a similar function kit but LCD and inverter mounting would be subject to change. Note 'R' Suffix below can apply!
